A plastic mask is one of the basic products used in beauty salons. Making it is not very difficult, although, as with everything, a little skill is needed. If the product is good, mixing and applying it is child’s play.
What do you need to make a plastic mask?
- a soft rubber bowl
- a spatula
- mineral water
- and of course a suitable algae mask
The hardest part, of course, is the ratio of mask and water. Chantarelle masks have the property that water can be added at any stage of mixing the preparation, so it is virtually impossible to mess up this stage. Mix the mask as in the video below for about 2 minutes until you get a smooth consistency without lumps and rolls.
How does the algae mask work?
The algae mask will work for all skin types, especially irritated and dry skin. Its main ingredient is marine algae, considered by cosmetologists to be a rich source of vitamins and minerals. Algae are marine plants that allow the skin to be comprehensively moisturised and soothed. Algae are marine plants belonging to the large seaweed family. They are considered to be among the oldest organisms on Earth. They are unicellular or multicellular organisms that are often used in the food and cosmetic industries. Their numerous positive properties give them the name ‘superfoods’. Face masks are one of the most popular cosmetics for women of all ages. They cleanse, refresh the skin and provide essential nutrients. They are encountered in every beauty salon. The plastic mask contains so-called alginate, which has an “occlusive effect” during cosmetic procedures. This means that it forms a “film” on the skin, which causes a reduction in TEWL (Transepidermal Water Loss). The product also opens the pores of the skin and helps the pre-applied active ingredients to penetrate.
Alginate is a substance in powder form, with high porosity, obtained from the cell wall of an alga. During treatment, the powder is mixed with water at a temperature of less than 36 degrees Celsius. Mixed with warmer water it would solidify too quickly. A suspension with the consistency of thick cream is formed, which is applied to the face, neck or décolleté, bust. After a few minutes, the suspension sets so that it can be pulled off as a single ‘rubbery’ patch.
