Our skin is exposed to strong winds, changing or low temperatures for most of the year. At the same time, it is very adversely affected by dry air in air-conditioned offices and heating in homes. It becomes dry, rough and dull, loses its radiance and nice colour. Autumn is the ideal time to cleanse our skin, regenerate it after summer and prepare it for the extreme minus temperatures of winter, while in spring it is good to nourish the skin after the cold weather and strengthen it before the onslaught of sun and heat.

 

At this time of year, acid treatments are recommended in beauty salons to deeply exfoliate and regenerate the epidermis. Among the treatments in the Chantarelle range are peelings with lactic acid, glycolic acid, salicylic acid, pyruvic acid, azelaic acid, lactobionic acid, ferulic acid and szikimic acid, phytic acid, mandelic acid, kojic acid, citric acid, gluconolactone and mandelic acid. How to choose a cosmetic with an acid?

Cleansing and home care with acids is also recommended during autumn. When choosing such a product, it is important to pay attention:

• • on the concentration of the acid,

 

• • the specific pH of the cosmetic

 

• • carefully read the list of contraindications

 

The active formula and pH of the product, ideally matched to the skin type, will ensure maximum effectiveness and safety. NOTE: Home care preparations should not contain acid concentrations greater than 20%. Higher concentrations should only be used in cosmetic surgeries by experienced cosmetologists, while acids above 40% should only be used by doctors – dermatologists.. If preparations with acids are applied regularly during home care for several months, a break of several months (approx. 3-4 months) is recommended after approx. 5-6 months. Only after this period do we continue our home dermocuration. The skin’s reaction to preparations with acids is very individually determined. Many people do not experience even minimal discomfort when using them – and this does not mean that the preparation is not effective. Another natural reaction of the skin to the action of acids is a slight pinching, which passes after a few minutes. Another symptom may be a slight peeling of the epidermis, occurring most frequently at the beginning of application. To avoid excessive peeling, the product should be applied intermittently, every 2-3 days. If, on the other hand, a strong, increasing burning sensation is experienced with each application, the product should be discontinued.

 

How to use preparations with acids.
