UV radiation is increasingly dangerous for the skin. It has not developed defence mechanisms against harmful radiation in the course of evolution. Apparently, “our genetic intuition” was unable to predict the damage that man’s ingenuity would cause in poisoning the atmosphere and creating an ozone hole…. So how do you protect your skin?
Vascular skin, extremely sensitive skin, with rosacea
The sun adversely affects vascular skin by intensifying the problem of capillary breakouts, weakening and often damaging the weak blood vessel walls. The vascular problem is in itself troublesome and not easy to overcome, the vessels are reluctant to hide under the skin, the effect of the sun can completely nullify the effects of treatments specially performed in winter. For skin with erythema, the sun also exacerbates the problem, as UV light, among other things, causes the problem. Extremely sensitive skin reacts “nervously” to almost any external stimulus, and sunlight is one of the most aggressive, so sun protection is absolutely essential. A special case is skin with rosacea, for which sun exposure is strongly discouraged. The aetiology of rosacea is still unknown and most likely multifactorial, all the more reason to avoid skin irritating stimuli that further impair skin immunity.
Recommended Chantarelle line – Red Stop
A line with advanced strengthening and soothing ingredients and with lactobionic acid, azelaic acid and gluconolactone with exfoliating action without irritating properties. The optimised acid complex reduces the symptoms of redness and inflammatory lesions, while enhancing the function of the skin’s stratum corneum as a protective barrier. The effects of the sun on dry and dehydrated skin can be severe – it reacts with an immediate tightening and burning effect, as it has the least effective defence mechanisms related to water retention in the epidermis. It is therefore necessary to provide the skin with support, both in regulating the water balance of the cells and in protecting it from UV. It is a grave sin to spray the skin with water, even thermal water, which, in strong sunlight, creates a lens effect that focuses the sun’s rays, resulting in immediate burns.
Recommended Chantarelle line – Absolute Rich Moisture
An advanced year-round moisturising and rejuvenating treatment with peptide skin exfoliation. Regenerating the hydrolipid barrier, increasing the skin’s water reserves and activating repair mechanisms for effective wrinkle reduction, recovery of elasticity and a healthy glow.
Dry, dehydrated skin
The perception that sunlight improves acne-prone skin is thankfully becoming a thing of the past. Dermatologists and cosmetologists have studied the reactions of acne-prone skin and have come to the conclusion that radiation causes only a temporary improvement, resulting from the browning of the skin, while it turns out that at the same time it causes disturbances in sebum secretion, as the “confused” sebaceous glands, wanting to replenish sebum in a situation of UV radiation (sun/solarium) dryness, produce much more sebum than needed. The circle is closed (the same mechanism occurs when the skin is intentionally dried out, e.g. with salicylic spirit or tonics with alcohol). Therefore, it is very important to stabilise the sebum secretion mechanism, with the necessary protection from UV, as burnt acne skin heals much more difficult and often with complications.
Recommended Chantarelle line – Ideal Pure
Sebum-regulating, moisturising and antibacterial with BHA salicylic acid and original sebo-regulating ingredients. Improves the condition of oily, seborrhoeic skin prone to acne vulgaris, also adult acne, papulopustular, with signs of inflammatory changes.
Mature, flabby skin
However, UV radiation does the most damage to mature skin, which not only struggles with the natural decline in the regenerative capacity of collagen and elastin fibres, but also with the problem of epidermal dehydration and discolouration when exposed to UV. Mature skin has the least defence mechanisms against the aggressive effects of the external environment. The action must also be twofold – intensive care and stimulation, as well as highly protective. Sagging skin also has a difficult task, as it lacks natural coping mechanisms against aggressive UV influences. With both complexions, the best solution is to avoid radiation, especially during peak sunlight hours.
Recommended Chantarelle line – Nutri Maxx
A rejuvenating programme to regenerate, nourish and moisturise and smooth out wrinkles from ‘within’. The formulations contain low- and high-molecular hyaluronic acid, bio-retinol, modern peptides to stimulate hyaluronic acid synthesis and delay cellular ageing.
UVA/UVB protection
Chantarelle experts recommend day creams with a minimum SPF 20 UVA/UVB protection for the skin. For very sunny summer days, SPF50 UVA/UVB protection is recommended:
Special Aesthetics Cover UV-protective cream SPF50 UVA/UVB .
The product has a very high SPF50 UVA/UVB protection against the sun’s harmful rays. The formulation is recommended for its protective effect as a high filter. And at the same time it has regenerative properties against inflammatory symptoms of oily, acne-prone and problematic skin. The cream does not clog pores and allows the skin to breathe freely while providing active sun protection and antibacterial action. It imparts softness to the skin and leaves it matte and velvety.
