The hot summer is quite a challenge for our skin. Low humidity, UV radiation cause a significant reduction in epidermal moisture. Water escape is also encouraged by wind and… office air conditioning. Depending on the skin type, the skin becomes as dry as paper or, on the contrary, starts to become oily with redoubled strength. To welcome the summer, we have prepared a competition with the TrendyKosmetyczne.pl portal, in which we asked you to describe how you take care of the hydration of your skin. Below are the most interesting answers, and we would like to thank all participants!
How do I keep my skin moisturised? Of course I use cosmetics to moisturise my skin from the outside, but this is only part of my skincare. Above all, I’ve already learned to drink at least 1.5 litres of mineral water every day and after the first month, I could already see a definite improvement. I also try to eat lots of fruit and vegetables, moisturising my skin from the inside. And one more thing – no more lounging in the hot tub! That really dries out the skin.
My way of keeping my skin well moisturised is to avoid exposing my face and body to direct sunlight. I had already outgrown sunbathing and quite effectively when I noticed the first wrinkles and later discolouration on my face. Now, not only is my skin not as dry, making wrinkles appear more slowly, but I take great care to ensure my skin tone is even. At my age, I have to be very careful to effectively slow down the passing of time on my face… I use moisturisers only with sunscreen, and in summer it’s only SPF 50+ preferably as a toning cream. At least twice a week I make myself relax with a well-moisturising face mask. This is time just for me!
I don’t think it’s just about externally moisturising the skin with creams, but collectively getting it in good shape. Being in my 30s, I already know that for the body to look good, it needs to be taken care of comprehensively. My recipe for healthy, firm, well-hydrated skin? Apart from regular use of moisturisers with sunscreen, my prescription is to run with a good vegetable and fruit diet! I love running not only because it relaxes me. By running I am undoubtedly in better shape, my body is working all over delivering well-oxygenated blood to every corner. By running I cleanse my skin by expelling the “last sweats”, i.e. toxins, then hydrating it from the inside with fresh water with essential minerals. After a run I have more energy and get a good night’s sleep, which is undoubtedly very beneficial for my skin, not to mention the improvement in my figure! Oh, I could go on and on about the benefits of running I encourage everyone!
I don’t have to use professional creams yet because it’s too early for that. I only use a moisturiser that is suitable for my age. I try to keep my skin well hydrated from the inside, as this will definitely pay off in the future. I drink at least a litre of mineral water and natural fruit juices. I don’t dry out my skin by tanning in a solarium or on the beach. I really enjoy the outdoors, cycling and rollerblading, and right now beach volleyball is my favourite. And that much sunshine is totally enough for me! I also put a face mask on myself from time to time, naturally moisturising 🙂
I take care of my skin’s hydration both internally and externally by eating a well-balanced diet, including drinking water, basic skin care, cleansing with a micellar lotion, soothing the skin with thermal water, then applying a portion of a suitable cream with or without sunscreen every morning and evening, using a homemade mask and a so-called professional mask, which can be bought from a chemist.
I try to moisturise my skin from the inside. To do this, I drink regularly, i.e. at least 1.5 litres of mineral water each day. This way, I don’t need a lot of moisturising cosmetics.
How do I moisturise? I hydrate my skin from the inside out by drinking plenty of mineral water. I also try to take supplements to help with hydration and to improve the look and condition of my skin. My skin care routine also includes the use of cosmetics that are well-matched to my skin and that moisturise and regenerate the skin. Diet, exercise and proper sun exposure also have a great influence on hydration, as sun exposure should be used rationally and in moderation.
Whether it’s winter or summer, my skin becomes dry when exposed to weather conditions (cold, frost, heat, sun), so I try to take care of it so that it always looks healthy and well-groomed. The basis of this care is moisturising – both the skin and the skin of the entire body. And it is not enough just to apply lotion after bathing. Above all, the skin must be properly prepared for going outdoors, so it is necessary to apply a special protective cream to the face (with a filter in summer, a greasing cream in winter). I lotion my body, often using oils or soft butters. However, I also take care of my skin’s hydration from within – I supply my body with the right amount of water, drink purifying green tea and enjoy the benefits of avocado 🙂
Proper skin care should consist in moisturising the skin and rebuilding the protective lipid mantle. It is essential to choose the right cosmetics for your skin type. Once my skin has had its delicacy in the form of cosmetics with moisturising properties, I also look for other solutions that are allies of a good microclimate. I use humidifiers to clean and moisturise the air in my rooms. I ventilate my home several times a day to maintain the right temperature and humidity. I try to eliminate dietary mistakes that contribute to excessive skin dryness. To moisturise my skin “from the inside”, I drink about 2 litres of unsweetened liquids or water every day. Among other things, I provide the necessary vitamins E, C and F in my meals. These have a beneficial effect on the regeneration of skin tissue and increase its elasticity and resilience.
How do I keep my skin moisturised? First and foremost, I try not to forget that the skin also needs to be hydrated from within – I try to drink at least one and a half litres of water every day to aid digestion and remove toxins and harmful waste products. Especially now, I take special care to moisturise my skin due to the hot weather – I always have a spray of thermal water at hand – such a mist is perfectly refreshing and hydrating. However, the most important thing is to cleanse and moisturise the skin with the right creams. Every morning, I wash my face with a gentle face wash, followed by a soothing toner and finally a light daytime moisturiser. In the evening, I spend more time caring for my face because after a long day, my skin needs moisturising. To do this, I reach for a micellar lotion to effectively remove impurities from my face and make-up, then a face wash. At night, I apply a semi-fat moisturiser which, thanks to its thicker texture, effectively hydrates my complexion and regenerates it while I sleep. Twice a week I apply an algae mask, which not only moisturises, but also smooths, seals the epidermis and soothes irritation. Thanks to this type of treatment, my skin is radiant and hydrated and I feel beautiful 🙂
When it comes to moisturising my skin, I rely on natural ingredients. Nature knows how to take care of me. My skin is dry, so I make sure there is always water in the creams I use. The simplest solutions are sometimes the most effective – a cream has to win my trust with its composition and action – my twenty-something skin is starting to get fine lines.
Facial masks and serums, hand creams, lotions and body oils – both to moisturise the skin and prevent it from losing its moisture too quickly. Which lady with dry skin doesn’t know this looping litany? I add to it 2 litres of spring water a day, an hour’s bike ride (because it improves circulation and gets water where it needs to be), avoiding spicy food, cigarette smoke and unventilated rooms. And thanks to this, I feel I have control over the condition of my skin 🙂
I drink at least 2 litres of still water every day, because internal hydration is the main ingredient of beauty. I use cosmetics that have regenerative and moisturising properties and my natural beauty enhancing properties. Every third day, olive oil and honey are mixed together and this mixture is applied to the face, neck, décolleté and hands for 10 minutes. Several times a day I spray my face and body with thermal water, because my body often needs such a “treatment”. I feel ultra-hydrated and my skin is happy:)
I have been taking care of my skin’s hydration for many years, so I have proven ways to keep my skin smooth, radiant and healthy. The most important thing during the day is to drink about 2 litres of water, because the skin wants to drink, so I “hydrate” it every day to keep it hydrated. I also use thermal water, which is incredibly refreshing for my face, my skin absorbs it like a sponge :). I also use skincare creams to keep my skin looking and feeling great – they keep my face glowing, healthy, hydrated and I feel happy and confident! 🙂
My skin is like a plant that needs lots of water to flourish. I nurture it because I like it to be beautiful and healthy. This way, despite being 43, I can afford to expose my body to the sun on the beach or the short skirts I love. It doesn’t give away my age. On the contrary, it makes me look older, because when someone finds out what year I am, they are always surprised, which is nice. I drink two bottles of mineral water a day, use good moisturising cosmetics, and in summer even take special hydrating preparations from the pharmacy. A plant that should be slowly wilting by now is flourishing!
First of all, I try to drink at least 1.5l of mineral water a day. Water with water, but don’t forget products that contain vitamin A and zinc. I apply a moisturising lotion to my body every day after my evening toilette, and before I go into the “arms of Morpheus”, I pat a night-time moisturising and regenerating cream into my face. After bathing, I sometimes lubricate my body with a beautician’s oil, the baby kind. From skin, hair and nails( to strengthen) I take a dietary supplement. You can also “ingest” capsules with vegetable and animal oils, rich in unsaturated fatty acids. I apply a flaxseed mask once a week. I think that by mostly following the above-mentioned treatments, we will soon be very positively surprised with the effect.
My skin needs proper care and protection as it is prone to allergies. I therefore choose cosmetics that are not tested on animals and are dermatologically tested.
Moisturising from the outside in and from the inside out…. that’s it! When I had the unquestionable pleasure of being at the spa and having a so-called facial treatment done on the occasion, the beautician first diagnosed my skin and said that overall it wasn’t too bad, but it was severely dry…. She questioned me about the creams I was using and, as they didn’t raise any objections, she asked how much water I drank per day; I honestly replied that I didn’t drink any at all because I don’t like it, but I drink a lot of coffee and Coke. The lady almost had a fit of laughter and explained to me that by drinking coffee I was doing exactly the opposite of what I should be doing, because drinking coffee and fizzy drinks has a dehydrating effect…. It’s been quite a few months since then, I haven’t stopped drinking coffee, but I try to drink at least a litre of pure water every day (regardless of using moisturisers) and I can really see an improvement…. I hope this is not an autosuggestion! 😀
Until a few years ago I would have replied: “moisturiser is enough”. Now that I am approaching 30, I know that cream is not enough. That’s why I take care of my diet, I don’t eat spicy and highly processed foods. And I drink a lot…water of course. I don’t leave the house without a bottle in my handbag. I have an app on my phone that helps me count the litres I drink. At work, I agonise over the air conditioning, which dries out my complexion. I persuaded my colleagues and we asked my boss for a gift from ‘Santa’ – a humidifier. The air-conditioning doesn’t scare my skin anymore 😉 In hot weather I additionally moisturise my skin with thermal water spray – it gives quick relief and hydration.
My skin is dry, ugly and bland. Without proper hydration, I wouldn’t even dare to leave the house or cuddle with my husband 🙂 So my prescription for moisturising my skin is as follows: Water, water and more water! I drink it from morning to evening, or about 2 litres a day, and in the worst heat I carry a bottle with an atomiser in my handbag and wrap my face and body in a mist of water 🙂 Of course, in addition to water, I also take care of proper skincare. I use lotions, make-up remover foams and protective creams, but of course they all have to be MoISTURISING! Moisturising the skin from the inside alone does not have the desired effect so I, as a woman who really takes care of herself, have given up: Drinking coffee, Smoking cigarettes, Drinking alcohol and intense sunbathing or tanning beds 🙂 Thanks to this, my skin is well-hydrated and I don’t worry that during a meeting with friends it will start to peel or just look ugly 🙂
I take care of my skin’s hydration by using deep moisturising cosmetics and drinking lots of mineral water, I also eat healthy! I have a humidifier at home and avoid taking too hot baths which dry out my skin. I use moisturising mists every day, which moisturise my skin perfectly! I am systematic in applying lotions and creams to my skin – daily care is the basis for successful moisturised skin!
I take care of my skin’s hydration first and foremost in a natural way. I use a day cream with UVB filters so as not to dry out my skin. If I have time, I use homemade cosmetics made from fruit and vegetables.
Moisturising my skin is a “must” at my age of 40+. – my skin is getting drier, thinner and more fragile. In the summer I mainly drink water to provide my skin and my whole body with internal hydration, I also switch to a lighter diet with lots of fruit and fish. Meat is waiting for cooler days:) And my skin? It is waiting for water in every form! From the outside in, it gets a “tonic shower” of cleansing, refreshing and moisturising from me for good measure, as well as a light summer dressing in the form of a deep moisturising cream, while the skin requiring special protection around the eyes and lips “drinks” the ingredients contained in a nourishing and moisturising cream designed especially for it. My latest discovery is also a moisturising serum. I admit that I have never felt such instant firming effects, increased skin tone and improved skin tone. It’s magic to me and such a small-big cosmetic miracle:) During the hot summer days, a mist in an atomiser accompanies me, which acts on my skin like dewdrops on a meadow in the morning – a gentle fountain, instant refreshment, a boost of energy. In the evening, after a tiring day, a make-up remover, also moisturising, soothes my skin, which is waiting for one of my favourite nourishing and moisturising night creams. And Friday evenings, it’s time for masks – in summer, mainly moisturising ones, as my dry skin never has enough water. From home remedies, I sometimes make a flaxseed mask that rushes to the rescue of my dehydrated skin – after 10 minutes of relaxation, my face is radiant. Then I feel like a teenager watching my mum during her beauty routines:) Summer is in full swing – we’ll be drinking by the handful. – me and my skin:)
