Microdermabrasion, also known as controlled peeling, is a method of mechanically exfoliating the epidermis using microcrystals. The treatment is performed with devices with abrasive heads or jets of crystals that strike the skin at high speed.
Microdermabrasion – types of peels
We distinguish between diamond microdermabrasion (dust-free) using diamond heads. Microdermabrasion usingalumina heads with alumina (corundum) crystals is also popular. Another method that counts as microdermabrasion is oxydermabrasion (oxyaquabrasion) – a water and oxygen treatment during which dead skin is exfoliated with oxygen and saline. Oxydermabrasion is a gentler procedure and can therefore be performed on vascular and sensitive skin. Another method of this peeling is using special microdermabrasion creams – applied manually. During microdermabrasion treatments, not only are dead cells abraded, but collagen and elastin production are stimulated.
Summary: diamond microdermabrasion, corundum microdermabrasion, oxydermabrasion and peeling in the form of a cream for manual rubbing in are available
