What chemical peels can be performed for extremely sensitive and reactive skin? How should the skin be cared for after a chemical peel in order to maintain its effect? What active ingredients should the products used after treatment contain? Can treatments be carried out on sunny days? How do I protect my skin from the harmful effects of our capricious weather?
Spring Rejuvenation – Recovery – Regeneration
Everyone dreams of having beautiful skin, and after a cold winter we think about regenerating and rebuilding it. The uncharacteristically late awakening of spring, the abrupt transition from sub-zero temperatures to true spring temperatures during the day and still low at night; the awakening of plant life and the start of pollen “season” – certainly do not make spring resolutions any easier to fulfil. Such a changeable aura is a huge challenge in recovering and maintaining excellent skin condition, especially sensitive, reactive, problematic skin, which can include:
- skin with capillaries and a tendency to erythema
- sensitive, reactive skin, with symptoms of atopic skin and allergies
With these skin types, we should definitely not perform chemical peels such as glycolic or lactic acid – with high concentrations and low pH levels. Leave these treatments for skin that will tolerate them well and respond with the expected treatment effect.
Chantarelle, on the other hand, recommends special treatment procedures with non-irritating ‘year-round’ acids, which can be performed at any time of the year and are designed for difficult skin. It is also very important to select skincare preparations after the application of acids to help reduce the problem.
Vascular skin, with erythema and rosacea
If you have vascular, sensitive skin, or skin with symptoms of erythema and rosacea, and have struggled unsuccessfully to close your blood vessels – we recommend the RED STOP Couperose or RED STOP Rosacea line. Special non-irritating lactobionic, azelaic and gluconolactone acids are applied in the treatment, followed by post-peel preparations with a rich formula of biotechnological and plant-based ingredients. The effect of RED STOP is to reduce symptoms of irritation – redness and foci of vascular lesions; to strengthen, seal and shrink capillaries and improve their elasticity; to strengthen and rebuild epidermal barrier function and improve skin condition; to strengthen stress resistance and autoregeneration. After application, the skin is calmed, relaxed with a sense of comfort, with visibly reduced redness and symptoms of irritation, strengthened, with less visible vascular lesions, perfectly moisturised and smoothed, well nourished with a recovered healthy and brighter skin tone. The in-office treatment RED STOP Couperose for vascular skin and RED STOP Rosacea for extremely sensitive skin with rosacea with complementary home care will provide a comprehensive action of innovative active ingredients.
Sensitive skin, allergic skin, with symptoms of AD and allergies
If you have sensitive, reactive, AD-symptomatic, allergy-prone, dry skin, we recommend the FERULASHI line. In the office treatment we use a set of rejuvenating-peeling ferulic and szikimic acids, as well as preparations strengthening the skin barrier. Ferulic acid is an excellent rejuvenating antioxidant that reduces free radicals, and chiakimic acid is a non-irritating peeling acid that stimulates cell renewal, the concentration of which in the FERULASHI treatment corresponds to the power of 50% glycolic acid. No irritating effect. So we do not use glycolic acid, which, like other types of peels, can be too aggressive for this extremely difficult skin. No less important a step in the treatment of difficult skin is the provision of appropriate, modern ingredients to rebuild the lipid barrier and hydrate, both in the in-office treatment.
UVA/UVB protection
High sun protection is extremely important for sensitive complexions. It is necessary to use products that give protection against both UVB rays – responsible for sunburn – and UVA rays – photo-aging. It is essential to avoid excessive sun exposure and to use day creams with a high SPF factor, which in the lines RED STOP and FERULASHI are at a very high level of SPF 20-35.
