This is an innovative facial and body skin peel with shikimic acid, ferulic acid and gluconolactone. It normalises the disturbed epidermal proliferation process and increases skin hydration, strengthens the skin barrier function. Has an anti-ageing effect, rejuvenates and smooths wrinkles.

It is suitable for all skin types, but especially for reactive, sensitive, dry skin with AD and allergy symptoms.

✓ Ferulic acid is a powerful antioxidant, nullifies free radicals that cause cell damage and accelerated skin ageing. It rebuilds the skin matrix, stimulates collagen and elastin synthesis, and effectively moisturises. It also has an anti-inflammatory effect. It has a photoprotective effect, enhancing the natural protection against UV radiation – it has the ability to absorb radiation in the full UVA and UVB range, up to the high ultraviolet 450nm. Prevents the formation of and reduces hyperpigmentation. Can be used all year round with adequate sun protection, has no irritating properties, also recommended for sensitive skin.

✓ Shikimic acid – extracted from star anise (Illicium verum) has exfoliating properties without irritating properties. It increases hydration and reduces transepidermal water loss TEWL. The acid also has anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties, inhibiting the proliferation of the yeast Malassezia furfur and the bacteria Propionibacterium acnes – characteristic of inflammation with redness, atopic irritation and dermatoses. What do we know about ferulic acid?

✓ Ferulic acid is a derivative of cinnamic acid, while in nature it is found in the leaves, seeds and bark of coniferous trees, in the grains of wheat, rice, corn and rye. Its name comes from the giant fennel – Ferula communis. For cosmetology, it was discovered more recently.

✓ First of all, ferulic acid has photoprotective effects, preventing skin ageing, improving skin tone and protecting against photo-ageing. Therefore, it enhances the natural protection against UV radiation. Secondly, it has the ability to absorb radiation in the full UVA and UVB range, up to the high ultraviolet 450nm, with maximum absorption in the 385-420nm region. It also enhances the action of other photoprotective ingredients.

✓ It is a powerful antioxidant, nullifies free radicals that cause cell damage, dehydration, accelerated skin ageing, loss of firmness, wrinkles and hyperpigmentation. Ferulic acid rebuilds the skin matrix and stimulates collagen and elastin synthesis.

✓ But this is not the end of its possibilities. Scientists are discovering more and more miraculous properties of this substance. As it turns out, ferulic acid inhibits the deposition of beta-amyloid and can therefore be used as a basis for the manufacture of drugs for nervous system diseases. Other studies point to beneficial effects in hypertension and diabetes, which involve counteracting glycation.

What do we know about shikimic acid?

✓ Shikimic acid is an acid from the AHA group of acids. It is extracted from star anise (Illicium verum) – Shikimi in Japanese.

✓ It is a mild but effective acid exfoliating agent, which can be used throughout the year. However, adequate photoprotection must be taken into account.

✓ Improves the functionality of the skin barrier and protects against harmful external influences. It has antioxidant activity, and this is especially important today when our skin is exposed to many factors that increase oxidative stress. It also supports the rejuvenating action of scrubs based on stimulating and enhancing the skin’s natural restorative processes.

✓ For dry skin, its positive action is based on hydration. This makes the skin smoother, firmer and more elastic.

✓ It has an exfoliating effect, which is why it works well for thickened skin, skin with blemishes and skin damaged by sunbathing. It also has depigmenting effects because it inhibits melanin biosynthesis. Thanks to exfoliation, the skin tone becomes more uniform. It becomes brighter and smoother.

✓ Shikimic acid is a valued ingredient in cosmetics for problematic, acne-prone, oily skin due to its antibacterial, anti-acne and anti-fungal effects. Inhibits the growth of the acne-causing bacterium Propionibacterium acnes. Regulates sebum secretion. It is helpful in unblocking plugged sebaceous gland orifices so that the number of pimples is reduced. It has also been shown to have analgesic and anti-inflammatory effects.

Turmeric extract (Curcuma longa) – has depigmenting and skin tone brightening properties, as well as anti-inflammatory, antibacterial and antioxidant properties. Stress-Blockers – extracted from rhodiola rosea (Rhodiola rosea) have an anti-stress and relaxing effect while improving mood. It has a stimulating effect on β-endorphin production and antioxidant properties. β-endorphins are neuropeptides with neurotransmitter effects. These compounds are also known as ‘happiness chemicals’ because they abolish feelings of pain and modulate mood, emotions and behaviour. Rhodiola rosea has been found to increase beta-endorphin levels without significantly modifying the other hormonal parameters tested.

Extract of the red cartilage alga (kelp Chondrus Crispus) contains carrageenan and mineral salts. It has a moisturising effect, reduces transepidermal water loss, forms a polysaccharide film on the surface of the skin, smooths it and facilitates skin regeneration. Carrageenan is a plant silicone that forms a thin film on the skin surface. This non-occlusive polysaccharide film binds to epidermal proteins and forms a ‘second’ layer of skin. It effectively protects against water loss (TEWL). Minerals (especially calcium and magnesium) strengthen and stimulate keratinisation, enhancing the skin’s resistance to environmental factors – detergents, UV radiation, irritants, pollution.

Amla extract (Emblica officinalis) is extracted from the Indian gooseberry. Due to its valuable properties, it is widely used in medicine, as it has antibacterial and antiviral effects. The raw material, which originates from India, is used in cosmetics, mainly as a rejuvenating agent and to remove skin discolouration. The extract has a beneficial effect on the skin: it brightens the skin and removes minor skin blemishes. Thanks to its high vitamin C content, it neutralises free radicals and delays the ageing process.

Chestnut extract (Aesculus hippocastanum) – is an important ingredient in preparations against broken capillaries. It also has a mattifying effect on the skin and removes impurities. It has firming and UV-protective properties. It has anti-inflammatory and anti-oedematous effects while strengthening blood vessels.

Arnica montana extract (Arnica montana) – has a broad spectrum of action. Due to the flavonoids it contains, it has anti-inflammatory effects. It is used as an excellent remedy for the elimination of bruises and swellings. It also has a regenerative effect and soothes skin irritations. Arnica is most often used for skin with a tendency to dilate and burst blood vessels and for polluted oily skin.

Hamamelis extract (Hamamelis virginiana) – contains a mixture of tannins, organic acids (gallic, ellagic), flavonoids and saponins. It has strong regenerative, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial and strong astringent effects. Soothes symptoms of irritation and redness. Improves blood supply to the skin.

Common ivy extract (Hedera helix) – contains health-promoting saponins and flavonoids. One of the main characteristics attributed to these compounds is their ability to reduce the permeability and increase the resistance of blood vessels. The extract also has anti-inflammatory and anti-irritant properties. Flavonoids have a protective effect and hederins have astringent and decongestant properties. It also has a mild antiseptic effect.

St John’s wort extract (Hypericum perforatum) – due to its tannins and phloroglucinol content, St. John’s wort has antibacterial, antiseptic and astringent properties, so it is also used in dermatology as a wound healing agent. It has a regenerative and soothing effect.

Vine extract (Vitis vinifera), or grape extract, protects the skin against infections, irritation, oxidative stress and UV rays. It also has a regenerative effect on the skin, e.g. after intensive sunbathing or improper care. In addition, it improves skin tone and strongly moisturises the skin. Thanks to the presence of tannins, grape extracts make the skin more elastic, tighten and firm it. They also regulate sebum production, which makes them very suitable for oily and acne-prone skin. Due to their vitamin C content, they strengthen the walls of blood vessels, which is why they are used in cosmetics for vascular complexions.

Directions for use

Apply the kit preparations in layers:

Layer – Ferulic and shikimic acid 2% pH 3.5 – apply 2-2.5ml of preparation MANUALLY for 1.5-2 minutes. leave to absorb; do not wash off preparation.
Layer – Ferulic acid, szikimic acid and gluconolactone 20% pH 3.0 – apply 2-2.5ml of preparation manually for 1.5-2 minutes or with 420nm violet light (PDT laser LLLT or LED) or sonophoresis. Wipe the skin with a tissue moistened with water and pat dry. Please note – you may feel a hot sensation during application.
Layer – Soothing and neutralising serum – leave on for 5 minutes to absorb, pat skin dry, do not wash off.

Important – observe the reaction of the skin. If necessary, discontinue the exfoliation procedure, wash off the applied acid with water, tonify and apply the Soothing and Neutralising Serum. .
