Body skin treatments

We know perfectly well that beauty care should not be limited to the face and décolleté area. It is important to care for the skin of the entire body, understood not only as daily hygiene, but also systematic treatments at home and, if necessary, selected treatments in a beauty salon.

Body care usually poses fewer problems than caring for a beautiful complexion. For most of the year, the body’s skin is not exposed to harmful UV rays, dry or cold air. However, its needs change throughout the year. Changes in ambient temperature and humidity affect the activity of the sebaceous and sweat glands, which provide hydration and protection. Of course, during the spring and summer months, these glands work much more intensively. Body skin also has fewer sebaceous glands than facial skin. Therefore, it does not produce protective sebum and is unable to provide the ideal level of moisture. Over the years, we also notice its increasing dryness, reduced elasticity, firmness and flabbiness. Daily, systematic moisturising and nourishing with appropriately selected preparations is therefore necessary to keep it in good condition regardless of the season.

During spring and summer, we expose our body to the sun. However, too much sunbathing or a lack of UV protection when walking can cause serious problems. This is particularly dangerous for fair-skinned skin. Hot and dry air is a factor in dryness and roughness of the skin and the formation of various types of discolouration. It is extremely important to use protective preparations all year round, including in the spring and summer months with a minimum SPF 20 filter.

Main problems in body care

The most common problems for the skin and appearance of our bodies:

  • Body skin dry, not very firm, not very elastic, flabby
  • Obesity, silhouette or selected body parts in need of slimming and modelling
  • Cellulite – edematous-fibrotic changes of the subcutaneous tissue occurring in obese individuals, but also resulting from other conditions;
  • Vascular disorders – obese people are more often affected by circulatory disorders and venous insufficiency. Symptoms then include a tendency to swelling, edema and heaviness in the legs.
  • Stretch marks – found in people with large and frequent weight fluctuations; these are skin lesions caused by excessive stretching of the skin by adipose tissue;
  • Scarring – defects that are usually the result of damage to the dermis and replacement of this defect by fibrous connective tissue;
  • Pigmentation – of various origins: light and thermal (most often post-sun), post-inflammatory, chemical (damage to the skin by chemicals), mechanical (after long-term skin irritation).
