Wrinkle fillers contained in home care products are an alternative to injectables for smaller wrinkles. For deep furrows or a dense network of wrinkles, wrinkle fillers will help to maintain the effects of aesthetic medicine treatments.
Aesthetic medicine treatments are becoming increasingly popular and available in Poland. They are included in the offer of SPA centres and beauty salons by employing a doctor with this specialisation. However, little is written about how to care for the skin after such procedures. Their durability, depending on the method chosen and the problem they target, ranges from 6 to 24 months. Therefore, home care to maintain the effects of aesthetic medicine is extremely important. The better the selected home care preparations, the longer the wrinkle-smoothing, firming and moisturising effect will last, and the longer the skin will have an even and healthy colour.
Wrinkle fillers – what are they?
We need to distinguish between substances used in aesthetic medicine surgeries and fillers used in creams by cosmetic manufacturers. Among the injectable fillers we distinguish:
- the most commonly used and best tolerated – hyaluronic acid
- L-polyactide – a biodegradable substance, which is a synthetic filler that dopes the skin to produce collagen
- Calcium crystal gel
- calcium hydroxyapatite – a stiffer filler suitable for correcting the shape of the nose and for male skin
- proprietary fat cells
Chantarelle creams – wrinkle fillers
Anti-ageing care ranges from filling in wrinkles, improving skin elasticity, removing hyperpigmentation, to proper skin tone and improving the skin’s oval. You can read about comprehensive anti-ageing care here.
GABA gamma-aminobutyric acid
(Gamma Amino Butyric Acid GABA) – a neuroactive rejuvenating ingredient for immediate and long-lasting wrinkle reduction and collagen renewal, hydration and skin barrier. Thanks to its small molecule, it has the ability to act quickly at the epidermal level as well as in the dermis. GABA relaxes facial wrinkles and crow’s feet by interacting with receptors, external nerve cells and smooth muscle cells. As a result, skin cells shrink less and are more relaxed, fine lines and wrinkles become less visible and the skin quickly begins to look younger. The first effects of wrinkle reduction, according to studies, are visible in as little as 10 to 30 minutes.
Matrixyl 3-Peptide
Innovative very potent anti-wrinkle low-molecular peptide stimulates the synthesis of the 6 main components of the dermal matrix and dermal-epidermal junction (DEJ): collagen I, III, IV (and HSP47), laminin-5, fibronectin and hyaluronic acid. It improves the basic biomechanical parameters of skin condition: skin hydration, density, firmness and elasticity, skin tone and facial oval. As a result, it fills in wrinkles from within, including on the forehead as well as ‘crow’s feet’, giving a visible effect of smoother and fuller skin. The effectiveness of the anti-wrinkle effect, especially the lifting effect, reduction in wrinkle volume and depth, was confirmed in an in vivo panel study on a group of 25 women aged 42-70 years.
Synpept 2-Peptide
Low-molecular-weight peptide complex (dipeptide) with targeted anti-wrinkle, smoothing, skin elasticity-enhancing effects. Strengthens the Dermal-Epidermal Junction (DEJ Dermal-Epidermal Junction), which has the task of maintaining the cohesion of the dermis and epidermis layers. The main components of the DEJ are collagen fibres types IV and VII and XVII and laminin V, ensuring that the two layers adhere tightly to each other. Synpept reinforces the integrity of the DEJ by enhancing intercellular communication with the building blocks of the DEJ. In addition, it regulates the anisotropy of elastic fibres in the skin, enhances skin cohesion restoring firmness and tone and smoothing out wrinkles. Restores a healthier and radiant skin tone.
Synvel 3-Peptide
A low-molecular-weight neuropeptide that mimics the action of snake venom toxin. It works at the same level as botulinum toxin and is a non-surgical alternative to surgical injections. Smoothes out facial wrinkles by inhibiting the vibration of expressive muscles. It smooths and hydrates the skin and gives it a fresh, relaxed appearance. It blocks the body’s absorption of Na+, which in turn relaxes facial muscles and prevents the formation of expression lines (wrinkles). The peptide mimics the effects produced by the 22 amino acid peptide waglerin-1 present in the venom of the snake Tropidolaemus wagleri. The peptide works similarly to botulinum toxin injections. When used regularly, it produces very good results. An in vitro study showed that the peptide at a concentration of 0.5 mM reduced muscle tension by 82% in just 2 hours.
Argireline Neuropeptide
This is a concentrated neuropeptide that mimics botulinum toxin. It blocks muscle-nerve conduction and reduces the depth and visibility of wrinkles, including facial ones. It intensively plumps out the depth of wrinkles by tightening the expressive muscles, making them visibly less visible. It is a non-surgical alternative to Botox injections. Argireline blocks the transmission of signals from the nerves to the muscles, which are unable to contract and as a result, wrinkles are made shallower. Argireline Neuropeptide is effective in the treatment of cosmetic problems such as forehead lines, crow’s feet (lines around the eye) and frown lines. A study published by the International Journal of Cosmetic Science showed that topically applied Argireline Neuropeptide at a concentration of 10% reduces wrinkles by 30% after a period of 30 days.
HYA–STIM 3-Peptide
Hyaluronic acid stimulator, produces a firming and remodelling effect by stimulating the production of hyaluronic acid from within the skin. The Hyaluronic Acid Production Stimulator is a new generation tripeptide that acts in two directions: it strongly stimulates the synthesis of hyaluronic acid, which binds water in skin cells, protects the structure of the collagen matrix and replenishes its lack in mature skin. In vivo studies show an increase in hyaluronic acid synthesis by more than four times. The stimulator also increases the levels of decorin and lumican, or proteoglycans, which strengthen collagen fibres, thereby increasing skin elasticity and resilience. As a result, skin hydration is improved, wrinkles are smoothed out and skin tensions are smoothed. The facial oval is modelled and the double chin is significantly reduced.
