What I love myself for…

It is estimated that more than one billion Christmas cards are sent around the world on 14 February, St Valentine’s Day. Most of the wishes are sent by women… By contrast, the following day, 15 February, is celebrated as Singles’ Day. The holiday originated in Italy and is patronised by St Faustin, the protector of lonely hearts. To combine both occasions, together with the CzasNaZmiane.pl portal, we organised a competition in which we encouraged people to write a short love letter to themselves!

I love myself most for moving forward and not looking back. Up until a few years ago, I was left alone with two children and no means to support myself. I had no job and an unfinished education. But I took the plunge, went to work, finished my studies in absentia and now have a managerial position in a forward-looking company and I know that in 2-3 months I will take on a director’s position. My private life has also settled down and I hope it won’t be worse in the future.

What I love most about myself is that I am crazy. My parents often tell me to stop, but the world is so beautiful and colourful that I enjoy every day I live. My female friends constantly have complexes, invent problems and get depressed. How will they be functioning in 10, 20, 30 years; if now, when they are young, they have their whole life ahead of them, they are constantly complaining. Girls life is one, enjoy every day!!!

What I love most about myself is that I have been consistent in raising my children. It’s been years and I am reaping the fruits of this; Son at university abroad, daughter has finished medicine and is about to choose a specialisation. We have to set limits for our children, make demands, give them responsibilities, talk a lot about life and, of course, give them lots of love.

What I LOVE MOST about myself…is that I always have something to give to others: a feeling, a freshly baked cake, a book that doesn’t have to be expensive, an apple, doing the shopping, helping with the cleaning, feeding someone’s cats. An ear that is willing to listen, comfort in sorrow, time…. Marlena

For the constant pursuit of excellence, For the joy in my heart. For the unplanned constant lateness, For overcooked pasta and pancakes burning! For being assertive, which I do not lack. and the fact that I am perfectly capable of being a mother.

I love myself for everything, especially for my dreams and no matter if I manage to fulfil them or not, new ones always appear. Because dreams are beautiful and they are worth having, because sometimes they come true when you really want them to. I thank myself for the optimism that keeps me going, even in the most difficult moments. I love myself for the smile that lights up grey days and helps when I’m sad. For the joy that sees the beauty of small things. For the hope that doesn’t extinguish when dreams seem too far away. For the peace that soothes when everything brings me out of balance. For the faith that gives me support when helplessness scares me. In a word, I am an audacious girl and I won’t post any further, I just want to thank myself today for everything! Krystyna

I LOVE MYSELF MOST FOR…. my sense of humour and the smile I bestow on my loved ones, as well as ordinary passers-by on the street. It’s just a pity that this love is not always reciprocated – especially on the street! Ilona   What I love most about myself is the joy in the eyes of others when they are with me, my ability to bring a smile to the faces of my loved ones, my ability to see the world in sunny colours even when others doubt, my perseverance in pursuing my goals, not caring about the opinions of strangers, the mole on my cheek that adds to my charm and the crooked tooth that sticks out slightly when I smile. Alicja

I LOVE MYSELF the most for putting the needs of my loved ones first and then my own and that they can always count on me. I am a sincere, loyal and smiling girl who always tries to see the good in everything and look at the whole world in a positive way. I try to squeeze life like a lemon and go through life according to the motto CARPE DIEM 🙂 Joanna

I forgot with myself that I am not a princess, That I lack a coach and a prince. I was sure that I would forget myself, But I didn’t think so I don’t seek glory, I see my undoing in praise, I don’t run – I seek happiness in the pause. I was born, I love, and I’ll die not on trial, So as long as I have the strength, I’ll spoil the face in the mirror! Barbara

What I love most about myself is that, I am like summer so much warmth in my heart!!! Aldona

I love myself the most for being who I am. I have a strong character, which makes me do well in life, I can distinguish between good and bad. I love myself because God created me so that I could enjoy what I have and what I got from Him 😉 I also love myself for walking such a path in life, where I meet only wonderful people 🙂 Angelas

I love myself the most because I am imperfect, Exactly as nature planned. I am not subject to anyone, I live according to my conscience, And I follow my dream successively. I work consistently and hard on my body, So that I gain vitality and a beautiful figure. I love myself for my perseverance and work on myself, So that I am a loving person Yolanda

I love myself the most for my courage, my confidence, for pursuing my dreams. I love myself for being able to take care of my outer beauty as well as my inner beauty, for being proud of who I am…. Anna

I love myself the most for….that I can forgive. I understand that everyone has flaws and everyone can have a bad day so I try to forgive stumbles and words that hurt. And if I forget that, if I forget how to be good and love others, I would like this letter to remind me of that. Joanna

I love myself most for my radiant smile every morning 🙂 Magdalena

I LOVE MYSELF MOST FOR…. I love myself most for the fact that I AM 🙂 It doesn’t matter what I am any more, because I am constantly changing, developing – it’s still that I am my companion in every second of life, until the end, I am my most important guardian, and in my head I have endless dialogues with myself, or maybe monologues? 😉 In spite of this, it is hard for me to stand in front of the mirror, look myself in sympathetic, trusting eyes and say aloud affectionately “I love you Ola”. It’s hard! But I know it’s worth it – the way I treat myself, the love I give myself, is an indication to others of the kind of behaviour I expect from them too. I love myself for having received so many gifts, for being able to love, to feel, to give to others, for trusting myself and yet still being able to surprise myself. For loving to walk in the mountains and gaze at the sea. And most importantly in my opinion – I love you My Olu for being a woman, you are a miracle, you are the giver of other people’s lives! 🙂 Aleksandra

I LOVE MYSELF the most for smiling in the mirror every morning even when the coffee creamer has soured, being stubborn as a donkey and being able to say” I’m sorry” and “You have a Chance” not only to others but also to myself. Paulina

Karolina! Continue to love yourself and believe in yourself more and more each day! Because thanks to your perseverance you have achieved everything you have so far, even though others said you couldn’t do it – you knew you could! And you did it! You are a young, confident and successful woman, a completely different girl than you were just 2 years ago. Do you know who you owe it to? Only you:) Love yourself, keep believing and keep conquering! 🙂 On the occasion of Valentine’s Day, I wish you to live each day as if it were your last and keep moving forward! in spite of adversity, in spite of your limitations! Love yourself and fight for the best because in the end you deserve it more than others! Karolina

I LOVE MYSELF MOST FOR…the inner optimism that helps in the greyness of everyday life. I like it when, despite being tired, a smiling person looks at me in the mirror. Anna   I love myself most for my sensitivity, good heart and tolerance for everyone. Milena

I love myself because without it I wouldn’t be able to love others. I love myself because I deserve it – because it’s important like oxygen for the brain, like life-giving water for the flowers, like Chantarelle cream for the skin. For the fact that I have freckles, that I still crave the sun while hiding from the wind in warm, masculine arms, that I am an incorrigible optimist who believes in people and miracles, that I learned to bake cakes and that I never lie, that I always have time to read stories to my daughter despite being tired, that I quit smoking and that I keep promising myself that I will start exercising and that I am still short of life and challenges! I love myself for having many flaws and yet, being able to put up with myself! Catherine

I LOVE MYSELF MOST FOR … big green eyes, long eyelashes and full lips. Darcia

I love myself the most for being me, I don’t need to pretend to be someone I never was and never will be. I love my gentleness and warmth. I am not ashamed of my feelings and emotions, which I am happy to show. They make me natural and convincing. I don’t get into unnecessary arguments that lead to nothing and only make me and the other person uncomfortable. This is what I love myself for. Bożena

I LOVE myself the most: for my honesty without limits, for my ability to de-stress during my day off, for my cheerfulness and belief in better 🙂 well I just love you Magdalena! :):):) Magdalena

I love myself most for my distance from the world spiced with a touch of self-irony. It took you many years, Anna, to stop tormenting yourself with things beyond your control. Now you live more joyfully and fully because you appreciate every moment. There’s nothing like summing up an uncomfortable issue with a funny comment, a cutting retort and gaining distance from reality. It defuses a tense atmosphere and clears the mind. Anna

What I love most about myself is that I never begrudge myself chocolate, that I fake it in the shower and that I have a lot of patience with children. I also like my hair ( even though it never wants to cooperate with me), my nose (because it knows people) and my long legs (because they almost always help me catch the bus). And I even love the selfie that lives in my head, for keeping me upright and still learning to smile at myself sometimes. Agata

I LOVE myself the most for… enjoying every day of life. Because we never really know which day might turn out to be the last one. That’s why I try to be happy and content with everyday life even despite some failures or stumbles. I enjoy life to the fullest, I don’t look back, I don’t have regrets, I don’t dwell on things, I want to be happy and smiling every day – so that I can pass it on to others. Judyta

Dear JA I am writing to let you know what I love you (myself) most for. First and foremost for the kindness and selflessness so unusual in this day and age. I love myself for having a clear mind, for believing in people and for trying to awaken the good in them day after day. Because nothing is as rewarding as changing someone’s life for the better, it’s like giving a second chance, like waking up from a winter’s sleep, after which you can finally see the values that matter most. Because we don’t live for ourselves, we live for others, and if, through us, someone discovers what happiness is – our life had meaning. My dear JA, please don’t change, stay strong and try, as you have done so far, to change the world for the better every day. Love forever, JA Anna

I LOVE MYSELF THE MOST FOR…. that I take care of myself – in spite of a million responsibilities, work, children I know that I am important too! I love you, baby, for your sensitive soul, but also your fighter character. I love you for fighting and always trying to give your all and not giving up! And I love you for working on yourself, wanting to grow and be a better woman! Kamila

I love myself most for the patience with which I handle my loved ones, for them I restrain my impulsive character and whims. Love and a sense of security are more important than pride or a rebellious desire for independence, which I still struggle with, even though I’ve been a teenager for a long time. It has taken me a long time to mature emotionally, as well as to come to terms with the passing of time, with my daily obligations (which, as a daydreamer, I could not accept). – However, I succeeded, and I fought for the sake of my loved ones…. Today I know that it was also for my own comfort and peace of mind 🙂 I love myself for my imperfections, which make me a unique, one-of-a-kind person; for the fact that I am finally able to use my explosiveness in a good way: in dance, sport, painting. In the past, I used to take my aggression out on my family – I have hardly forgiven myself for that. Every day I try to be better for myself and others, to enjoy every day, every moment, after all, none of these brief moments will ever happen again. I won’t be born again either, the same as in this moment, so I’m done with complaining and worrying – it makes me love myself even more, for persistently pursuing my (and not only!) dreams, for filling my surroundings with positive energy, for the pride I bring to my Beloved. Barbara
