Every one of us has some “beauty secrets, beauty tricks”…. How to deal with skin imperfections, unruly hair, brittle nails…. These are secrets that only a friend, sister or mum used to know. So here are your chosen tricks or habits for beauty care or enhancement, make-up, camouflage…
I learnt a beauty trick given to me by a friend. The cooled cloudy water in which the rice was boiled is rich in vitamins and antioxidants. This water is great for the complexion and hair, prevents excessive pigmentation and removes age spots.
I have a few of these tricks. The first is to apply castor oil to my eyelashes before going to bed. This helps to nourish them, making them longer and stronger. Although the effect is only visible after a few weeks, it is worth the wait. The second trick is to apply coconut oil to your hair. It makes hair smoother, stronger and shinier. The last trick is to apply Vaseline to the skin around the nails before painting them. This way, you only paint the nail without dirtying the rest of the finger.
What do I do when my face is greasy and I’m dead? My go-to method for matte, moisturised and smooth skin that only my friend knows:
1) I cleanse my face thoroughly
2) I mix olive oil/oil with hyaluronic gel
3) I apply it to my face (keep it on for a few minutes)
4) I then wipe off any excess with a paper towel A face prepared in this way stays matte for a long time and the make-up lasts much better throughout the day. In addition, it becomes smooth and moisturised!
My best friend is my grandmother. She told me an old as the world “secret” of feminine beauty, which I’m sure everyone has heard of, but hardly anyone applies. I am all about naturalness and ever since I was a child, my grandmother told me that a woman is most beautiful with her own beauty. My secret, handed down to me by my grandmother, is to gently pinch my cheeks. My flushed complexion draws everyone’s attention. I look radiant, but not artificial! And every friend asks me where I got such a sensational blush… 😉
When I was younger a lot of people raved about my eyelashes. They said they were thick and long, they were my pride. Once, while experimenting with the shape of my eyebrows by shaving them off with a razor, which now seems like the worst possible idea to me, I lost half of one eyebrow. I tried covering it up with my hair, but I couldn’t feel comfortable constantly checking to make sure my brow was covered. I confided in a friend of mine and she advised me to apply castor oil to my eyebrows, it got my eyebrows back to normal in a much shorter time. Now, when I mascara my eyelashes every day, I apply castor oil to my eyelashes in the evening after washing off my make-up and it keeps them nourished and strong.
A beauty trick my friend passed on to me concerns oily hair and dandruff. This problem often affects every one of us, and few people know how to get rid of it. My ritual towards beautiful hair is to wipe my scalp (after washing my hair and wiping it with a towel) with cotton wool soaked in an oily skin tonic. She then massages her scalp with sea salt mixed with a mild shampoo. This is a sure-fire way to get rid of dandruff and a fluffy, shiny hairstyle. I don’t give a trick for beautiful facial skin because there is one foolproof one – Chantarelle creams! 🙂
I have this little trick for blackheads, which only my friend knows about and who also tries to use this method from time to time. I mix gelatine, which you can buy at any grocery shop, and milk and leave it in the fridge for about 1-2 minutes to thicken. When I take it out, it should be a warm paste that I can already apply to my nose and also to areas where blackheads are visible. Once the mask dries, I peel off a slice and that’s the trick for cleansed, blackhead-free skin.
As a make-up artist, I know how important the eyebrows are as a frame for our eye. I know from experience that it’s not worth interfering too much with their natural shape. A few years back I made the big mistake of wearing thin eyebrows, painted on with crayon! Now I laugh about it and I’m glad I’ve perfected their look 🙂 My way to perfect my brows is to take a slanted brush and use it to fill in the gaps between the hairs with a matte brown shadow. The closer I get to the arch, the more shadow I apply, while at the root, right near the nose, I apply as little as possible for a natural effect. Finally, I comb out the excess with a special comb and voila! Perfect eyebrows are ready, and now I can get down to eye make-up, because everything will come together nicely. (…)
My trick for beautiful hair, eyelashes and nails. I got tired of buying every now and then different products to improve the condition of my hair, eyelashes and nails. I was never satisfied with the results anyway. Once upon a time I bought castor oil (colloquially a laxative :D) at the pharmacy. I had read on the Internet that it worked wonders. So I started to use it regularly, rubbing it into the tips of my hair, my eyelashes and my nails with a cotton pad. After two weeks I noticed the first results. My eyelashes stopped falling out, my hair became shiny and my nails finally stopped splitting! I just shared my trick with a friend and now it’s also her way of improving her appearance.
My secret and tiny secret to keeping my skin looking good and radiant despite being 57 years old without a scalpel? It’s nature, healthy living and happiness at home. Masks with natural ingredients: fruit, egg yolks, sweet cream, oatmeal at least twice a week. Even more often in winter. Water instead of coffee, tea instead of beer. Vegetables instead of meat in excess. Grains, cereals, vegetables and fruit in the amount I like – which is a lot. Plus the love of my husband and personal dog. A two-stick march for health. Lots of good literature, sleep and love and I have a beautiful complexion and the surgeon doesn’t make money on me. Good creams instead of Botox and I know that my face won’t fall apart over time, my boobs won’t burst on the plane and my buttocks won’t rise only when I get up from the stone Methods I recommend because they are pleasant, organic and do no harm to the body!
My best friend and I have no secrets from each other. We agree to have a cup of coffee at least once a week, and coffee is our beauty trick that gives an instant miracle effect, and is the easiest way to have a smooth and firm body just like after a spa treatment. Simply brew the ground coffee in a very small amount of boiling water, let it cool down, then mix it with cinnamon, salt and your favourite body lotion, spread this mixture all over your body with a massage and then rinse with water. A scrub made in this way firms and smooths the skin, which becomes silky soft. Although this was my and my friend’s secret, I recommend this treatment to every woman because we deserve true beauty.
The beauty trick for a beautiful complexion is a great secret. The recipe is created from natural ingredients. The mask applied to the face contains forest nettle extract, 2 tablespoons of linden honey and two teaspoons of grated rosemary root. Mix all the ingredients thoroughly and store for 24 hours at room temperature. I apply the concoction once a week for 15 minutes.
A trick I often use to have shiny hair is to make my own flaxseed gel. I have long hair, so I like it to shine beautifully. Unfortunately, it’s dull by nature, so my mum once told me that if you rub some brewed flaxseed into it (which makes a sort of glop when it cools), it will be very shiny. So, after washing and towel-drying my hair, I rub this gel in my palms and press it into my hair in a generous amount. Then, when the hair dries together with the gel, it is very stiff. However, after brushing out what doesn’t get absorbed into the hair (and it all brushes out beautifully), the hair is soft and very, very shiny. I don’t tell anyone my secret because I like compliments in which my hair is compared to a sheet of water. And the only person who shares in my hair secret is my mum – a friend to whom I am also one. She ended up telling me her way to beautiful hair, which she herself used in her youth.
As a big fan of natural beauty products, my friend has long known and used a great winter nourishing mask in her opinion. My friend loves to treat her skin with masks based on fruit, thick cream, cottage cheese. Her favourite mask for her face neck and décolleté, as well as her hands, is the autumn/winter banana mask. She calls it this, because it regenerates the skin on those cold days when wind, cold and rain wreak havoc on the skin. And how does she make it? He takes a ripe banana, mixes it, adds 2 tablespoons of cottage cheese, a tablespoon of honey, a tablespoon of olive oil, a tablespoon of oatmeal and a tablespoon of thick cream. She applies the mask for half an hour and relaxes by closing her eyes and thinking about pleasant things. This lying down is important because this is when the masks penetrate the skin best. After this mask, my friend has smooth, velvety, nourished skin. She praises the mask and the condition of her skin so much that I think I will soon start making homemade masks too.)
I use various beauty tricks that only my friend knows. I apply a simple moisturiser to my cheekbones and then use lipstick to paint my lips and pat it on as a blush. I use the lipstick as a 2-in-1 lipstick and then the lipstick as a 2-in-1 lipstick. I drink carrot juice every day to give my skin a healthy and darker appearance. These tricks make me feel confident and happy.
While on a foreign exchange, I was invited to my aunt’s birthday party. The big surprise for me was that after blowing out the candles, my aunt bit the candles in half then went under the table and started screaming. It lasted maybe three minutes, but I was hugely surprised. I later learned that this was supposed to bring good luck and prosperity. When I returned home I told this to my friend and every birthday she practices it, my friend laughs, but no one but her knows what it is about. Undoubtedly, a certain beauty habit that only my friend really knows about is my way of preventing wrinkles;-) Namely: as part of my relaxation and short break at work, I give myself a few minutes of faceworkout, i.e. massage and facial gymnastics, which effectively support me in the fight against the signs of my advancing years! Kissing the ceiling, yawning lionesses, pulling up the lower eyelids, pinching and pecking, alternately puffing up the cheeks, pronouncing the letters A O U I E…, pulling the chin forward while saying Y is both fun and a really good way to enjoy young and pretty skin:-)
Our beauty trick comes in handy especially after a tiring week or when we want to look “fresher” before an important outing, then we make a wonderful pap to put on our face 🙂 The main ingredients are blended carrots with coconut oil. It is truly wonderful! The complexion takes on colour afterwards and feels fresher and juicily moisturised. Of course, additives without limitation, if we have more time we still land in it lemon juice or rose water. Just walk around with the concoction for about 15 minutes. Of course, it is best to lie on the bed, put on some relaxing music and cover your eyes with cucumber slices – then the effect is double 🙂 Hair gets a shine when you rinse it in unpasteurised beer after washing – it shines like crazy 🙂
My beauty trick that only my friends know is a coffee scrub for the whole body. It involves mixing together ground coffee, salt, cinnamon and cream in comparable proportions. Apply to moistened skin and massage in gently circular motions. It perfectly exfoliates the epidermis, makes the skin more elastic, moisturises brilliantly and brightens. It is also brilliant for cellulite 🙂 It is additionally cheap and created only from natural products from our home. The best!
She uses a natural shampoo containing many valuable nutrients for her hair. It also has a skin-friendly PH. It is a shampoo made from rye. I take a few tablespoons of organic and finely ground rye flour), add some cold water. The consistency should resemble a liquid paste. I apply the shampoo to wet hair and massage for a few minutes so that the active ingredients penetrate the hair and scalp, rinse well with warm water. Done 🙂
My beauty tricks; I make my own homemade BB cream by mixing moisturiser with foundation, then the makeup is light and natural. When I run out of lipstick, I spread blush on my lips. When something pops up on my face I dissolve an aspirin in a little water and wash it off. I use an old mascara brush as an eyebrow brush.
To have moisturised feet, to keep them smooth and soft you need to lotion them overnight. Put thick socks on the lotioned feet. In the morning after taking them off your feet will be perfectly moisturised. perfectly moisturised.
I have a certain method with my friend that we often use when we get together and organise our home spa. Our tried and tested secret way is to use a product that we probably all have in our home, but use it for a different purpose. This magical product is… MAJONESE. Yes, yes mayonnaise. We ourselves were sceptical about the idea of putting something you eat on your hair until we tried it on ourselves. Looking at its composition, it’s sheer benefits for the hair. Of course, we avoid mayonnaise, which contains preservatives and flavourings. We add a few drops of essential oil to the mayonnaise so that its smell is not so intense. Even after the first application of this extraordinary mask, we were amazed that mayonnaise can work such wonders! We use still mineral water to rinse it off, as hard tap water weighs hair down. Mayonnaise and still mineral water is a trick we use regularly and my and my friends’ hair has become smooth, soft and shiny!
My beauty trick is a mask made of water and gelatine which is great for smoothing the skin and has a cleansing effect on the pores 🙂 Once the mask has dried, we peel it off our face.
My best friend is my sister, she has a degree in cosmetology and I always go to her for advice on my complexion, I was struggling with severe dryness and lack of skin elasticity, so she recommended I give myself a ‘chamomile steam’ once a week and then do a gentle facial massage with the help of coconut milk to intensively improve my skin’s elasticity and hydration. In addition, using the right day and night cream for my skin makes my skin perfect.
My beauty habit, which only my friend knows about, is to give myself a facial massage twice a day, which keeps my skin firm and smooth while the creams absorb well. My facial skin looks young and I don’t have a lot of wrinkles despite my middle age.
My beauty trick is to get enough sleep. As soon as I am sleepy, I immediately look better. I recommend it to everyone. To look nice, I remember to apply homemade masks often.
I try not to tan, so to look nice I use self-tanner, both on my face and on my body. Especially in spring, I apply it to my legs. I deal with stains and streaks by using lemon juice. I squeeze the juice onto cotton wool and rub the problem area. The result is always satisfactory. Lemon juice can be used as a tonic: it tightens the pores, reduces sebum production and reduces discolouration.
Discolouration on the teeth can be eliminated by brushing with activated charcoal. I still use baking soda occasionally, which I mix with toothpaste and apply to my teeth. They whiten brilliantly.
I have dry skin. I currently use coconut oil instead of moisturiser. For this one I have also tried jojoba oil and argan oil. They work sensationally. They are super moisturising. I also recommend instead of after-sun lotion.
I style my hair with beer. They hold great, gain volume and have shine. Overall they look beautiful. Unpasteurised beer is best for this.
I recommend an oatmeal scrub: to 3 tablespoons of crushed oatmeal add 1 tablespoon of honey and the juice of half a lemon. Mix thoroughly and place in the fridge for 30 minutes. Once removed, add 1 tbsp of milk. Mix together and apply to face thoroughly cleansed beforehand. Massage preferably over a bath, shower tray or basin for 5 minutes. Apply the remaining oatmeal slurry to your face and leave on for 15 minutes. After this time, wash off with lukewarm water. Your skin will be soft and your make-up will last a very long time.
Ania’s way to get blackheads. I buy candlestick oil and cosmetic paraffin at the pharmacy. I mix them in the ratio 1:4 oil (1) : paraffin (4). I wash my face in the morning and evening. Please try it.
My trick is to make the perfume last longer. First lather yourself with perfume, then apply cosmetic petroleum jelly or lotion to those areas. The scent will enter the skin better and stay longer.
Trick for soft feet. Simply soak your feet for 20-30 minutes in apple cider vinegar once a fortnight.
If you use the sauna, it’s a good idea to take care of your hair on occasion. Before going into the sauna, I apply a conditioner or mask to my hair, depending on what I am using at the time. The effect is like after a super restorative treatment at the hairdresser’s.
I use an ice mask before a party. I’m in my 40s and this kind of express facelift is very good for the appearance: it improves blood circulation in the skin, firms, tightens pores and smooths. You can put a bag of frozen food or ice on your face, but it’s worth investing in a mask like this that you keep in the fridge.
I recommend a chamomile tonic. You need to pour a bag of chamomile or even loose chamomile over boiled preferably distilled water. Steep for up to 20-30 minutes and the tonic is ready.
I recommend a mask for calloused skin, e.g. on the elbows or heels: some oatmeal, about 5 tablespoons, add a drop of vitamin A + E, pour milk over everything until it becomes a thick paste. Wash off after about 15 – 20 minutes.
I don’t like to apply lotions after my bath. It is terribly time-consuming. I pour in a variety of oils and this way my skin is perfectly moisturised immediately after my bath.
A simple and inexpensive sugar body scrub. Add a small amount of water to 6-10 teaspoons of sugar, allowing the sugar to spread on the skin. Massage with the sugar for 5 minutes. Then wash off. This scrub, is also suitable for the face.
When I’m away and don’t have much room for cosmetics, and as we know you can take a lot of it, I take a ‘cosmetic trick’ with me in the form of vitamin A ointment. Vitamin A ointment can be used as an eye cream, face cream, lipstick, balm, etc. Super moisturising, smoothing and regenerating.
Trick for shiny hair: at the very end of washing your hair, rinse it with cold water. The hair’s cuticles close, the hair becomes smoother as a result. Hair is shinier.
I would like to suggest an inexpensive way to brighten your face. Add a few drops of lemongrass oil and raspberry seed oil to the cream you use.
Trick for an oily skin mask consisting of tomato pulp, lemon juice and potato flour. Wash off after 30 minutes. Recommended!
