Laser therapy has been used in cosmetology for at least several decades. Laser stands for the first letters of the words Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation. A laser device produces a beam of very bright light in the form of short pulses or in continuous form. Such laser light can effectively act on a wide variety of skin problems and effectively rejuvenate and regenerate the skin.
Laser types
Based on the power they have, lasers are divided into high, medium and low power lasers. Medium and low power lasers are used in cosmetic surgeries. These types of lasers are often referred to as cold or soft lasers, as opposed to the high-powered ones (hot, or hard lasers). Treatments with low power lasers are referred to as low power laser therapy – LLLT (Low Level Laser Therapy). Also used by name are biostimulative lasers, due to their mode of action on tissues.
How does laser light work?
Laser light, when acting on tissue, can be scattered, reflected, transmitted or absorbed. From the point of view of cosmetic therapy, the phenomenon of absorption is the most relevant. In tissues, laser light is absorbed by chromophores. Depending on the type of laser, the chromophore in the skin can be water, melanin, haemoglobin, collagen or other active substances contained in cosmetic preparations. The strictly defined wavelength emitted by the laser is absorbed by the chromophore. The light energy is then transformed into thermal energy and the chromophore is thermally destroyed – hence another name for such therapy: photothermolysis (photo – light, thermo – heat, lysis – breakdown). In the case of medium and low power lasers, thermolysis does not occur; they can only slightly raise the temperature in the tissue to 0.5 degrees C. Their action is based on a photochemical or biostimulative effect.
Laser therapy in cosmetology – PDT lasers in Chantarelle therapies
Photodynamic therapy (PDT) is the biostimulative effect of laser light absorbed by chromophores without thermal effect. The most important task of laser therapy is to deliver the right dose of radiation energy to the appropriate area of tissues affected by pathology.

- patient response to laser radiation

Biostimulant lasers therefore promote wound healing and inflammation. They can be used, for example, for acne vulgaris, as well as in photorejuvenation. They can be used for pain relief, instead of acupuncture needles (laser puncture). In addition, they have a stimulating effect on immune processes, facilitate nerve regeneration, have an anti-edema effect and improve microcirculation.
Laser therapy for vascular and sensitive skin
Selected laser photodynamic therapies are designed for thin, delicate, vascular, sensitive, atopic and allergic skin in need of strengthening and regeneration, with symptoms of rosacea. Chantarelle recommends the following laser treatments:
