DESCRIPTION:

Azelaic acid (AzA) – derived from cereal grains, has an antimicrobial effect even with long term use. Reduces symptoms of inflammatory lesions such as papules, pustules and redness and erythema. Acts as a ‘scavenger’ of free radicals that activate inflammatory processes. It lightens discolouration and scars and has an antibacterial effect. It does not cause phototoxic or photoallergic reactions, so it can also be used in summer.

Lactobionic acid (PHA) – obtained from naturally occurring lactose, with a slightly exfoliating effect, without irritating properties. Actively reduces dilated capillaries and telangiectasias, stimulates skin renewal, prevents the formation of wrinkles. Is a natural antioxidant. Enhances repair mechanisms (by stimulating collagen synthesis), provides protection against the effects of UV rays. It has a unique ability to bind water and form a protective layer on the surface of the skin, making the skin instantly smooth and soft. Can be used all year round.

Salicylic acid (BHA) – antibacterial and anti-inflammatory, it unclogs sebaceous ducts, clogged by unabsorbed sebum due to abnormal, excessive keratinisation of the hair follicle mouths. It regulates skin cell renewal, has an exfoliating effect by loosening intercellular connections and removes layers of dead keratinised epidermal cells. It is non-drying, so it also effectively cleanses parts of dry, polluted skin with numerous blackheads.

Ti-Rutin – an antioxidant flavonoid strengthens blood vessels and prevents capillary breakage. It improves their elasticity and permeability. Stimulates microcirculation. Reduces symptoms of inflammation and irritation, soothes and reduces the discomfort of tight skin. Increases protection against the damaging effects of free radicals. It activates the cells of the defence system, reduces the synthesis of prostaglandins – mediators of inflammation. As a powerful antioxidant, it also has an anti-ageing effect.

Stress-Blockers – extracted from rhodiola rosea (Rhodiola rosea) have an anti-stress and relaxing effect while improving mood. It has a stimulating effect on β-endorphin production and antioxidant properties. β-endorphins are neuropeptides with neurotransmitter effects. These compounds are also known as ‘happiness chemicals’ because they abolish feelings of pain and modulate mood, emotions and behaviour. Rhodiola rosea has been found to increase beta-endorphin levels without significantly modifying the other hormonal parameters tested.

Alanthoin (provitamin A) – counteracts hypersensitivity and overreaction to the sun. It has antioxidant properties. Protects against free radicals, which are the cause of faster skin ageing.

Vitamin E (tocopheryl acetate) – known as the “vitamin of youth” adds vitality, protects vitamins A and C from excessive oxidation. It is responsible for the formation of epidermal cells, inhibits the skin ageing process and restores its balance. Protects against harmful UV radiation, prevents strong oxidation of lipids in the skin. It counteracts the release of free radicals, helps maintain the elasticity of the skin and thus prevents skin ageing and the formation of wrinkles.

Caolin – is a cosmetic ingredient of mineral origin. It is one of the finest clays and contains many trace elements (including silicon, aluminium, iron, magnesium, zinc and calcium) and mineral salts. It has light covering and brightening properties.

Chestnut extract (Aesculus hippocastanum) – is an important ingredient in preparations against broken capillaries. It also has a mattifying effect on the skin and removes impurities. It has firming and UV-protective properties. It has anti-inflammatory and anti-oedematous effects while strengthening blood vessels.

Arnica montana extract (Arnica montana) – has a broad spectrum of action. Due to the flavonoids it contains, it has anti-inflammatory effects. It is used as an excellent remedy for the elimination of bruises and swellings. It also has a regenerative effect and soothes skin irritations. Arnica is most often used for skin with a tendency to dilate and burst blood vessels and for polluted oily skin.

Hamamelis extract (Hamamelis virginiana) – contains a mixture of tannins, organic acids (gallic, ellagic), flavonoids and saponins. It has strong regenerative, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial and strong astringent effects. Soothes symptoms of irritation and redness. Improves blood supply to the skin.

Common ivy extract (Hedera helix) – contains health-promoting saponins and flavonoids. One of the main characteristics attributed to these compounds is their ability to reduce the permeability and increase the resistance of blood vessels. The extract also has anti-inflammatory and anti-irritant properties. Flavonoids have a protective effect and hederins have astringent and decongestant properties. It also has a mild antiseptic effect.

St John’s wort extract (Hypericum perforatum) – due to its tannins and phloroglucinol content, St. John’s wort has antibacterial, antiseptic and astringent properties, so it is also used in dermatology as a wound healing agent. It has a regenerative and soothing effect.

Vine extract (Vitis vinifera), or grape extract, protects the skin against infections, irritation, oxidative stress and UV rays. It also has a regenerative effect on the skin, e.g. after intensive sunbathing or improper care. In addition, it improves skin tone and strongly moisturises the skin. Thanks to the presence of tannins, grape extracts make the skin more elastic, tighten and firm it. They also regulate sebum production, which makes them very suitable for oily and acne-prone skin. Due to their vitamin C content, they strengthen the walls of blood vessels, which is why they are used in cosmetics for vascular complexions.

Shea butter (Butyrospermum Parkii Butter) – is obtained from the seeds of the Vitellaria paradoxa (Parka butter) tree. It contains nourishing fatty substances, vitamins E and F and ingredients that protect the skin from UVB radiation. Forms a natural sunscreen and has antioxidant properties. Has a smoothing and soothing effect on irritation. Lightly lubricates the skin without leaving a greasy feeling. Has a protective effect on the intercellular cement, moisturises and regenerates the skin. Increases the cohesion of the epidermal cells, softens and improves the elasticity and colour of the skin.

Menthol – has a strong minty fragrance and has refreshing, soothing, cooling, anaesthetic and irritation-relieving properties. Often used in after-bath and after-sun care formulations.
