Choose a mask for home care

Learning a professional approach to skincare, every woman sooner or later looks for preparations that give a stronger and longer-lasting effect. Among home care products, we distinguish sera, scrubs and masks.

In this article, we will present the benefits of using masks during home care rituals. Professional home facial masks can be used in three ways:

1. Regular care at home

In this group we can include cleansing, nourishing, antibacterial, sebum-regulating, vitamin and moisturising masks. Depending on the needs, we apply them 1-2 times a week for the proper functioning of the skin. If the skin has symptoms of rosacea, the cooling and soothing Redness & Anti-Rosacea mask from the Red Stop line will help. If the skin is showing signs of atopy and dryness, a nourishing mask that controls the skin’s water balance will help, namely Mask Hydrating from the Absolute Rich Moisture line. On the other hand, if minor hyperpigmentation is an issue, lighten it with Boost-Mask Perfect Smooth from the Superior Youth Boost line, which prevents the production and accumulation of melanocytes in the skin. If you’ve over-sunned, we recommend Regenerating GABA Cream-Mask from the Special Aesthetics line.

2. Therapeutic effect

The same masks that we use for regular skincare, but applied with greater intensity, will give a therapeutic effect. For example, for a stronger effect, a brightening mask can be applied every other day for a fortnight, or a nourishing and moisturising mask for dry skin as a night cream – also for a fortnight. The concentration of the active ingredient in the mask will always be higher than in the cream from the same line. Therefore, with such an application system, the therapeutic dose of active ingredients accumulates and the effects increase.

3. Corrective effect

A corrective effect is provided by whitening, lifting, slimming, rejuvenating and edema-reducing masks. With regular care, for example, 1-2 of your regular masks add 1 application of another mask, as if an additional “mask-suplement”. In contrast to the therapeutic action, you do not accumulate the active potential of the ingredients as with regular care, but now act in a bidirectional way, on two different skin problems. E.g. skin with symptoms of rosacea should regularly apply the Redness & Anti-Rosacea mask from the Red Stop line, twice a week, and once a week a complementary mask in the other “direction”, e.g. the Regenerating GABA cream-mask from the Special Aesthetics line.

Home mask rituals

For the best results, there is nothing better than performing a scrub before applying a mask. This can be enzymatic, granular or a peptide scrub. The peel will remove dead cells from the surface of the skin and allow a new layer of skin to be exposed, softer, smoother and giving better penetration for the mask and its active ingredients. However, we stress that the scrub before the mask should be applied no more than once a week. The mask, on the other hand, can be applied more frequently. Have you chosen your perfect mask?
