The skin, like any biological system, will notchange significantly over a short period of time. Najnowocześniejsze zabiegi kosmetyczne nie przyniesą więc oczekiwanych efektów. Only combine intensive dermotherapy in thegabinet and systematic home care can give desired results. A very important aspect of performance is a properly selected night cream.
Must Have – two creams for night and day
Our skin has different expectations at each time of day. Sometimes it needs more protection and strengthening, and sometimes it needs nourishment or regeneration. Therefore, there are two main types of cosmetic labelling – night or day. They contain different compositions of active ingredients that have different tasks. During the day, we encounter harsh sun, gusty winds, very low and high temperatures outside. Such aggressive factors affect the sensitive skin microbiome. The task of a day cream, on the other hand, is to activate the skin’s natural defence mechanisms and form a protective barrier in the form of a thin film. Day creams are ideal for application under make-up, have a light texture and are almost imperceptible on the skin. At night, on the other hand, the skin takes a break from aggressive external factors while preparing itself for their attack the next day. The skin then regenerates and is more receptive to nutrients. The night hours are therefore the ideal time for the application of a cream rich in active ingredients. It penetrates more easily and quickly into the deeper layers of the skin. At the same time, night care is a therapeutic treatment for problematic skin – the active ingredients are applied in a higher percentage concentration.
Main rituals of home care
Home care includes these main steps:
Morning:
- Purifying and toning
- Strengthening skin barrier structures and moisturising
- Support for a healthy microbiome
- Protection against the sun and external factors
Evening:
- Purifying and toning
- Active care in the form of serums, creams, masks to address specific concerns (including reducing hyperpigmentation and wrinkles, stimulating skin lifting, firming, improving microcirculation, replenishing hydration)
Night creams for intensive regeneration
We present the most important active ingredients for night care and the indications for their use:
| składniki aktywne | wskazania | ||
| antioxidants | They protect against oxidative stress. They also take part in the defence against bacteria or viruses. These include vitamins, minerals, flavonoids, carotenoids, etc.) | ||
| peptides | Active ingredients that “communicate” with skin cells in the skin language. Depending on the type, they perform different tasks (biostimulate, strengthen the microbiome, brighten the skin, etc.) | . | |
| growth factors | These are also peptides, but with specific stimulating properties. They strengthen the epidermis, dermis and blood vessels, smooth wrinkles and firm. | Growth factors. | |
| retinol | Acts as an anti-ageing and anti-acne agent. Stimulates the density of the dermis and reduces hyperpigmentation. | ||
| niacinamide | Increases skin hydration and elasticity. Stimulates collagen production and reduces wrinkles. Improves microcirculation, has a soothing effect and reduces symptoms of irritation. | ||
| AHA acids | Universal ingredients that regulate skin keratinisation. Indicated for the treatment of ageing skin, hyperpigmentation and inflammation. | Acids. | |
| gluconolactone | Strengthens the skin’s repair, defence and protective mechanisms. It is a potent moisturiser, helping to maintain the skin’s normal natural hydration balance. |
During the evening ritual, it is important to remember that certain ingredients like or dislike working together:
- retinol is not friendly to vitamin C, AHA acids, salicylic acid
- niacinamide (vitamin B3) is not friendly to AHA acids and vitamin C
- AHA acids are not friends of retinol and vitamin C
It is also important to make your evening skincare ritual a time of relaxation and indulgence. Make sure you have a minimum of a quarter of an hour for thorough cleansing and the application of concentrates and night creams. Night creams are best applied and massaged in with a long hand massage or a massager.
